Sereno Valley Rabbit Rescue is a non-profit, all volunteer-run rabbit rescue. We are located in Eastern Ontario and speciallize in rehoming abandoned and unwanted rabbits.
We do not discriminate against reputable breeders, however we will not contribute to the over-population of domestic rabbits by enabling pet store suppliers and habitual breeders a quick fix to rehoming their stock. We will accept rabbits from breeders, provided they have been spayed or neutered and are accompanied with Veterinary records as proof.
Any rabbit surrenderd to our care must be in good health and accompanied with food, housing, and any familiar items to help ease their transition. A $50 surrender fee is required if the rabbit is NOT spayed or neutered.
A 2 week quarantine period is required of all new surrenders. This allows us to monitor health and temperament, as well as ensures our existing rabbits are not subjected to any infectious disease. Once the quarantine period is over (and the rabbit is spayed or neutered), we will gradually introduce a new member into the herd; thus allowing them the opportunity to bond and socialize WITHOUT the risk of pregnancy and hormonal agression.
Bonded rabbits will be adopted as pairs and are NEVER separated. All rabbits will be spayed or neutered, temperament tested, and healthy. We do require potential new adoptees have experience with rabbits, or are willing to educate themselves on caring, feeding, etc.
Single Rabbit $80
Bonded Pairs $110
As naturalists and animal rights activists, all of our rabbits are free-roaming; therefore potential adoptees must understand we do not release any rabbit to a home where they will not be provided with at least 4 hours of daily exercise outside their pens.
